Upgrade spunbond nonwoven machine line or Invest in new nonwoven machine
Many manufacturers might initially ponder this question: Should they invest in a single S spunbond Nonwoven machine during the early stages of production, and later to upgrade the original S line to an SS spunbond line by adding an extruder to increase capacity and expand production?
We generally do not recommend customers pursue this type of upgrade for several reasons as below:
First, upgrading involves much more than simply adding an extruder and spinning equipment. The process includes comprehensive adjustments to platform layout, wiring, and connections between machines, as well as extensive debugging. This undertaking is both time-consuming and labor-intensive, requiring as much time as setting up a completely new production line.
Second, comparing the S and SS production lines, while an SS line can produce both S and SS Nonwoven Fabrics, you can only produce one type at a time. Additionally, S and SS nonwoven fabrics have distinct characteristics and cater to different market applications. Consider this: if you’ve been in the nonwoven industry for some time, and you’re considering an upgrade, it likely means your current production capacity can no longer meet demand. In this case, the best approach is to add a new line rather than interrupt your operations for an upgrade. If your goal is to diversify your product offerings, investing in a new SS line will be a better choice. This way, you can produce S and SS fabrics simultaneously. Choosing to upgrade your old line means you can only produce one type of fabric at a time. Producing SS fabrics, for instance, could cause you to miss opportunities in the S fabric market, leading to a scenario where you’re robbing Peter to pay Paul.
